Confidentiality & Privacy Policy
Law protects the clinical psychotherapeutic relationship and privileged information will not be disclosed without the patient's written permission.
Exceptions include:
- Suspected child, adolescent, dependent adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report to the appropriate authorities immediately.
- If a patient is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
- If a patient intends to harm herself or himself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If the patient does not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission outlined by law in order to ensure the patient's safety.
